A new study released today from the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) discusses links found from commonly used pesticides and Colony Collapse Disorder. This is exciting news to not only the hobbyist beekeeper but the larger operations that use millions and millions of bees to pollinate the fruits and vegetables that we eat every day. December is upon us and boy was it chilly at the West Chester Farmers’ Market. The customers that braved the weather were met with wonderful options for those last minute Christmas gifts, as well as stocking up for winter, should snow ever touch ground this year. Nancy of Wooden Shoe Baked Goods husband came this Saturday and was selling a very tasty bloody mary’s mix, you should defintely try it the next time he’s there! Chris’ Honey would like to thank everyone that came out to the West Chester Farmer’s Market on Saturday. While it was not raining when I left the house early that morning, by the time that I passed “Butter Jesus,” it was raining. And the rain continued throughout the morning. So we really appreciate all our loyal customers who came out to the market. The students from the Culinary School were there, and they fixed some great samples…well worth getting wet for!
